Chromatic Perceptions
Chromatic Perceptions was my senior thesis and was born out of my interest of science. While I was designing the cover for “The Giver,” I became interested in the science behind color vision and colorblindness. I decided that I wanted to produce a book that focused on these very topics. While there aren’t a lot of books that focus on both topics simultaneously, I wanted to make sure that both topics were represented throughout the book.

Interior spread. Spreads were used in multiple ways throughout the book. This one in particular shows a large diagram of an eye.
This spread was used to display examples of the Ishihara colorblind tests. These are used to determine whether or not someone may have colorblindness.
This spread features interesting facts that were found throughout my research. The spread was designed to relate back to those Ishihara tests, which were a big part of my book.
Example of what happens when you put the front cover and the back cover side-by-side. The inspiration was to use a photograph of someone’s eye, because of the subject matter, and relate it all back to those Ishihara tests.
